Sharing Music Sharing Stories
90.5 WUOL is partnering withSquallis Puppeteers to tell a musical version of The Story of Ferdinand. Shawn Hennessey has built a wonderful suitcase puppet show to go along with the music and narration of Sara Soltau, our education programs manager. Sara performs"Ferdinand the Bull" for speaker and violin (music by Alan Ridout and words by Munro Leaf) and Shawn uses puppets he made using everyday materials. Through their program they hope to make both classical music and puppet making accessible for kids and encourage them to create their own stories and puppet shows from musical inspiration. The program will be a 40 minute program with added music and fun! Pre and post visit classroom resources will also be available to teachers.
