The University of Louisville women’s basketball team’s run toward an NCAA championship has ended with their defeat in the title game.The fifth-seeded Cardinals fell to top seed Connecticut 93-60 tonight in New Orleans.U of L got off to an early lead but couldn’t hold off the Huskies for long, trailing by 19 points at halftime.UConn won its eighth national title, tying Tennessee for the most women’s championships.Sara Hammond led Louisville with 15 points, as the Cards finished their season with a 29-9 record.The U of L men won the national title Monday night in Atlanta.
