It's hard to argue that an actress has had a better past 12 months than Jennifer Lawrence. On Thursday morning, the Louisville native was nominated for an Academy Award for best actress for her role in the dramedy Silver Linings Playbook. It's her second nomination. In 2010, Lawrence was nominated for her role in the dark indie drama Winter's Bone. It's a nod to Lawrence's artistic abilities — but in 2012 she also starred in The Hunger Games, a big blockbuster that has grossed $408 million domestically. This year, Lawrence will be up against Jessica Chastain (Zero Dark Thirty), Emmanuella Riva (Amour), Quvenzhane Wallis (Beasts of the Southern Wild) and Naomi Watts (The Impossible.)We'll post some reaction from Hollywood watchers to Lawrence's nomination later this morning as it begins to seep out.
