Coop le Moderne

Coop le Moderne (aka Gerry Cooper) (Gerry is pronounced Gary, but call him Coop!). Coop DJ's around town, is the founder of the project Avenue Studios (a creative platform highlighting music, art and culture for Louisville musicians, artists, and community members), a co-founder of the Louisville Race Club and Pit Stop Runners Club, as well as the community based collective All Together Now.

Coop has played a wide range of events from monthly R&B parties to the dance series “An ABX Joint” as part of the duo Another Black Xperience and his personal favorite Sundays are for Jazz event held at Better Days Records. DJ’ing has allowed him to travel to play in places like Brooklyn and Chicago, but nothing’s like playing for his people here in Louisville.

The Avenue Sounds show will be an open format mix show, blending everything from house and disco to jazz, jungle, and downtempo. Coop believes Avenue Sounds can be a great platform for showcasing music all across the world, but also from the underground culture we have here in Louisville.
