The Civically, Indiana workshop is a free event in Jeffersonville Thursday, Jan. 23, 2025.

Hear directly from Indiana lawmakers, journalists and community experts about what to expect in this year’s legislative session and how you can engage with the process.

Ever wondered how the Indiana State Legislature works? LPM News and Indiana Public Broadcasting are inviting you to a free and engaging night of conversation and community ideas.

The event will take place 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23 at the Carriage House at the Howard Steamboat Museum. We’ll answer your questions and share tools and resources so you can follow topics throughout this year's legislative session.

Registration is encouraged. Light snacks and drinks will be provided.

Lauren Chapman, Indiana Public Broadcasting digital editor, will start the event with a short presentation on key dates, how to find and follow bills, when lawmakers hear testimony and other questions our news team frequently receives.

Aprile Rickert, Southern Indiana reporter for Louisville Public Media, will then moderate a panel discussion with lawmakers, journalists and community experts.

Audience questions will be encouraged throughout.

We hope to see you there!
