by Brenna Angel, Kentucky Public RadioThe mayors of Louisville and Lexington are putting a friendly wager on Saturday’s match-up between the U of L and UK men’s basketball teams. This is the first that Louisville’s Cardinals and UK’s Wildcats have played each other in the Final Four. And for both mayors, there’s a lot riding on the outcome. At a meeting of the Bluegrass Economic Advancement Movement in Frankfort, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer put a bottle of Woodford Reserve bourbon on the line.“I think later this week you all need to be focused on starting to medicate yourself because there’s going to be a huge disappointment in Catland come Saturday,” Fischer said.Lexington Mayor Jim Gray also wagered some alcohol… a pack of Bourbon Barrel Ale made by local company Alltech. And he says the wager won’t end there.“The loser is going to wear the winner’s colors on Monday,” Gray said. “So Greg I’m really looking forward to you being in solid blue. Solid blue, buddy!”The game is Saturday at 6:09 p.m. The winner will play either Kansas or Ohio State in the championship.
