In college basketball this weekend, the Louisville Cardinals return Sunday to the KFC Yum Center, where they’ll take on Pittsburgh. Tipoff is at 2:00pm. Prior to the game, former Cardinals’ coach Denny Crum will be honored with a mural on the west wall of the Downtown Courtyard by Marriott Hotel across from the arena.Crum is the latest of many prominent Louisvillians to be honored with a mural. Others include Muhammad Ali, Pat Day, Diane Sawyer and Bob Edwards. A ceremony to unveil the mural will be held at 12:30pm Sunday.The top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats are back in action tomorrow, hosting Vanderbilt. Tipoff is at noon.The Indiana Hoosiers resume play Sunday at Minnesota. Tipoff is at 1:00pm.
Rick Howlett was midday host and the host of LPM's weekly talk show, "In Conversation." He was with LPM from 2001-2023 and held many different titles, including Morning Edition host, Assignment Editor and Interim News Director. He died in August 2023. Read a remembrance of Rick here.
