by Gabe BullardThe Louisville Metro Council will consider some hot button resolutions at its regular meeting Thursday.The body is poised to vote on a resolution requesting a partial refund and a discount on membership fees from the Kentucky League of Cities. It follows a state auditor's report that found extravagant spending within the organization.The council will also vote on a resolution that asks the state legislature to make the cold remedy pseudoephedrine prescription-only. The resolution is an effort to stop methamphetamine production, which requires the drug.The council is also likely to vote on a new ethics ordinance. A workgroup has spent months reconciling the differences between two different updates to the city's ethics code for government officers. A measure cleared its committee Wednesday afternoon.And, a resolution asking the Kentucky Public Service Commission to deny Louisville Gas and Electric's request for a rate increase will receive its first reading in the council Thursday.
