IN WHICH a telescope is celebrated, and buttons are clicked.
Briana’s pick: “Hubble”
Until such time as we can all afford to visit outer space, the next best thing might be seeing it in IMAX. And since we can’t yet travel to distant galaxies, we can view incredible images of them thanks to the Hubble Telescope. I’m pretty jazzed about the Hubble as you might have heard during a previous Down and Nerdy devoted to the modern marvel. So you can GUARANTEE that I will be going to see IMAX Hubble, which opened (in 2D) March 19th at the Louisville Science Center.
James’ pick: Progress Wars
Do you have friends on the Facebook? And are they crazy for all of those spammy games about farms and mafias and hidden eggs and whatnot?
Well, here’s the perfect antidote to all of that nonsense, a satire that reveals those Pavlovian pellet-dispensers for what they really are: Progress Wars, a “game” that is nothing more than clicking and watching the progress bars go up.
Custom missions built just for you! What will you unlock at the next level? Can you wait to find out? PROGRESS WARS!
